Free Webinar: Outside for Everyone
Monday 28 September | 6pm - 7pm
Join Marina Robb and a panel of practitioners working across very different education settings for Outside for Everyone - a live, practical conversation about what inclusive and responsive outdoor learning looks like in the real world.
Children don’t all learn, communicate, participate or feel comfortable in the same way.
So, what happens when, instead of always expecting the learner to fit the activity, we ask how the activity, environment and practitioner can respond to the person in front of us?

In one hour you'll:
- See how inclusive outdoor learning is being adapted across very different real-world settings.
- Hear honest examples of what has worked, what hasn’t, and what practitioners have changed in response.
- Take away practical ideas you can adapt to your own children, space and resources.
- Build a clearer framework for responding to individual needs, choice, participation, communication and appropriate risk.
- Think differently about a key question: does the learner need to fit the activity - or can the activity respond to the learner?
What will we explore?
Outdoor learning can create different ways for children to move, communicate, take appropriate risks, develop practical competence, connect with others and experience a sense of belonging.
But simply taking children outside does not automatically make an experience inclusive.
We’ll explore questions such as:
- Who is able to participate - and who is finding it difficult?
- What might a child’s behaviour be communicating?
- How do sensory needs, communication, regulation and confidence affect participation?
- When should the practitioner step in - and when should they step back?
- How can an activity be adapted around a learner?
- How do we balance safety, autonomy and appropriate risk?

The Format
Marina will begin with a short live webinar exploring the principles behind responsive outdoor practice.
She’ll then open up the conversation with practitioners working in Early Years, specialist/SEND education, independent education and Forest School practice.
Rather than presenting one model of “good outdoor learning”, we’ll hear what happens when practice has to respond to different children, different needs, different spaces and different resources.
Our guests will share real examples from their own settings - including needs that can easily be missed, activities they have adapted, how they offer meaningful choice, and what they have changed in their own practice over time.
The focus will be practical, honest and rooted in real experience.
Responsive practice is not about creating the same experience for everyone.
It is about noticing barriers, understanding different ways of participating and being willing to adapt what we do.
Outside for Everyone means creating more ways in.
A recording will be available for a limited period if you are unable to attend live.
